Basic Function:

 

• Supervises and controls the preventive and breakdown maintenance repair and testing of compressors, turbines, pumps, valves and rotating equipment etc. in Process Operations Areas. Plant areas including Zakum, Umm shall, Bunduq and Condensate Treatment Unit, Crude Oil Storage Tanks, Crude Oil loading pumps & turbines, Onshore/Inshore Flares and Pipelines, LNG Manifold, API Separators, SWDP Plant, Utility, Ations, R.O's Tanker Berths (SPM) and Metering Bay.

 

Work Performed: 

 

• Ensures that all the mechanical maintenance activities are in full compliance with Company HSE management system, Integrity, Operation & maintenance procedures.

• Ensures adherence of subordinates and contracted workforce with Company's Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Ensures personnel working under his authority are in full compliance with all operating and maintenance procedures while carrying out their maintenance activities.

• Ensures that all work carried out by the personnel under his authority compiles with "Company and Best Industry Practices". Ensures adherence to Company Safety Regulations and UAE / Local prevailing Laws & Regulations.

• Ensures safety equipment under his custody is in proper operating condition, tested and color coded equipments after repair or major overhaul.

• Monitors machinery vibrations and carries out independent vibration analysis. Trouble shooting operation problems of all rotating equipment and valves and report with necessary recommendations.

• Organizes the necessary mobile equipment (Cranes, compressors, browsers° to implement jobs. Organizes the necessary boats to implement offshore works on tanker Berth 3 & 6.

• Receives work requests from Production Plant, Storm, fire, safety and Marine for repairs and modifications and ensures that they are carried out promptly and efficiently.

• Prepares Stores Materials Requisitions and follows up orders, assists the engineer with amendments to the materials vocabulary and setting minimum stock levels and ensures availability of spares.

• Execution of approved Plant Modifications (PMRs) on rotating equipment & valves. Maintains close and continues liaison with Operation Team during normal and shutdown time to ensure safe execution of all jobs related to his responsibility.

• Closes monitoring of Maximo work requests / work orders based on their priority / compliance window for execution and ensure that work backlog is maintained at minimum level.

• Pre-plans the daily work schedule for the workforce through Maximo System and keep records. Raises work requests through Maximo for any required jobs (scaffolding, Civil etc)

• Checks availability of spare parts to carry out the work and raise required Material requisition (MRs). Update equipment History in Maximo and completes work orders.

• Discusses technical issues with Mechanical Section leader I Mechanical Engineers while attending to critical and complex works/ trouble shooting of rotating equipment.

• Ensures compliance to Company standards and Code of Practice. Carries out on-the-job training and development of UAE National Engineers I Supervisors and Technicians.

• Participates in the assessment of CAMS Developees in Mechanical Maintenance Section. Promote awareness of Company's Health, Safety and environment Management System with the mechanical crew.

• Responds with Maintenance Crews when General Alert Situation arises. Initiates permit to work for all jobs.

• Prepares and actions Near Miss Reports recommendations in his area. Schedules workforce for safety, Breathing Apparatus and fire fighting courses.

• Conducts regular 'Tool Box Talks" with his workforce regarding routine, shutdown and corrective jobs. Participate in risk assessments of various tasks in conjunction with Safety and Process Departments. Review PPE of Workforce.

• Attends and for conducts regular Toolbox and Group Safety meetings with workforce to promote HSEMS programme and ensures the appropriate log books are kept up to date.

• Guides, directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a team. Works in line with HSE Policy, and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations by subordinates.

Minimum Requirements:

 

• Bachelor Degree in relevant Mechanical Engineering Discipline or equivalent.

• 5-6 years experience, including 2 years in supervisory positions in a Petrochemical Environment.

• Posses UAE Driving License.

• Proficient in English.
