Job Description
Principal Accountabilities:
 
Site Major Works Support and Execution control (Projects, Overhaul, Inspection etc.)
Manage and participate for review of P&ID's, Layouts, Specifications, Operability and Maintainability studies, participate in workshops and design and plot plan reviews and contribute with site requirements and experience towards improvement of existing systems as required.
Provide effective interfaces and relationships within/between disciplines, site teams and peers in other site project teams.
Network and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to UZ Site team or interface teams and other Project owners for fast tracking projects.
Review Instrument & Control / Safety valve specifications, Instrument location plans & E&I cable routing drawings, Loop diagrams, instrument. tie-in Schedules and other Design Specifications.
Conduct tests to identify & recommend solutions for interface problems between different control systems, telecommunication and network equipment and contribute towards minimizing changes to scope that might impact on cost and schedule for the project.
Provides technical expertise with experience based knowledge and assistance to site maintenance departments on Instrument and control, machinery engineering & maintenance and monitoring for all process Instrument and control equipment.
Track, Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path for compliance to individual milestones and deliverables. Liaise and resolve and conflicts within the project execution plans, schedules or implementation and UZ Site operations.
Lead and direct the major Instrument and control activities to be carried out with the operation/maintenance targets KPI's being achieved or exceeded.
Consolidate, discuss and review requirements based on site feedback and participate as required in Design Technical Review Meetings, Site Surveys, and Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests and installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover activities.
Critically review all major works related Equipment, Maintenance procedures, Spare Parts, documentation etc. are set up and kept properly updated and handed over post works.
Coordinate with reliability teams for implementing updated preventive, routine and other maintenance programs and procedures post major works on Instrument and control equipment. Recommend modifications and enhancement in order to improve the reliability and availability of the systems.
Oversee the commissioning and hand-over of new facility. Highlight and address maintenance, operational, design and warranty/guaranty related issues with stakeholders.
Assist in troubleshooting and Liaise with vendor /support teams post major works for support to minimize equipment downtime after any malfunction or failure or breakdown.
Periodic follow-up all punch list items till completion with engineering and execution teams with proper prioritization and timeframe for the actions.
Review and contribute to studies of the adequacy of the system and recommend system upgrades/changes to meet operational and maintenance challenges.
Recommends and Identifies training requirements to ensure up to date and functional knowledge base.
 
A. Greenfield Projects support requirement:
 
Provide collated comments from with operation to the Green field UZ750 projects during design and execution phases as required, to minimize variation and delay in the projects.
Identify and direct the site participation requirements as required for Greenfield design review, workshops, HAZOP, FAT etc.
 
B. UZ Site Turnaround and Shutdown participation:
 
Analyze, identify and record all opportunity based Jobs and shutdown requirements in-house, ensure preparation for shutdown works and expedite accordingly for readiness.
Compile the individual shutdown requirements from various project and campaigns to align with opportune unavailability or planned shutdown with information to planning.
Coordinate, follow-up and prepare in-house activities, major projects and campaigns shutdown requirements with support units and contractor for minimum operational interventions and shutdowns within site resource limitations, in line to company objectives.
 
C. HSE
 
Participate in HAZOPs, technical reviews, Risk Assessment and safety audits, as applicable.
Participate as Performing Authority to PTW for site major works for Instrument and control jobs or as required for subordinates.
Review and ensure proper PPE, LOP, JSA, toolbox talks and the like are being complied for external manpower during works at Site.
Review and ensure contractors adheres to HSE rules and regulations in particular and to the Company rules and regulations in general. Ensures the observance of HSE rules and regulations by junior team members with proper cascade of information.
 
D. Leadership and Resource Management
 
UZ Site Focal point for Instrument and control related all major works interface, prioritization, interdependency, alignment, readiness, site support requirements etc.
Ensure support departments like Engineering, Integrity and Logistics etc. are adequately geared up for related support requirements without hampering UZ Site operations.
Lead and step-in as buffer for non-operational activities so as to have site operations team focused on core operations.  
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements:
 
Bachelor of Engineering degree in Instrumentation/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering from an institute of repute.
A minimum of 20 years' experience in senior position with relevant maintenance experience in Oil and Gas industry.
Good knowledge of advanced Instrument and control knowledge as applied to complex Oil industry equipment, preferably in an offshore environment.
Well conversant with Modern DCS, Safety instrumented System, Alarm management system, Asset management system, knowledge of IEC 61131-3 languages such as Relay ladder Logic, FBD etc.
Previous experience In EPC works through to commissioning and performance evaluation of major works of equipment and facilities upgrade.
Good knowledge of relevant International Codes and Standards is required.
Should be well familiar with ERP Programs such as MAXIMO, project management software & Microsoft Office Programs.
