Job Description
Job Purpose:
 
Installs, commissions, maintains and repairs wide range of sophisticated electronic in the area of responsibility such as: Distributed Control System (DCS), Emergency Shutdown System (ESD), Fire and Gas (F&G), Programmable  Logic Controllers (PLC) based systems, UPS, battery chargers, 3-phase rectifiers, crane control systems in addition to the telemetry systems used in oil & gas processing and associated utilities.   
Attends Wellhead Tower’s installations for repair, maintenance and calibration. Vets and comments on the related new packages e.g. BAKER Electro Hydro System ...etc.
 
Principal Accountabilities:
 
Receives work assignments from Supervisor works and segregates them according to their importance priorities. Installs, maintains and repairs electronic modules used in computers, PLC, UPS, ...etc., Diagnoses and rectifies faults of electro-hydraulic and analytical instruments on all plant areas and equipment, including telemetry systems, control instrumentation, surface safety system ...etc., Investigates diagnosis and recommends to Supervisor preventive action to avoid future occurrences. Maintains  records of all electronic/ electrical/mechanical drawings, diagrams ...etc. Informs Supervisor on faults, required repair, spares and general improvements of the system.
Complies with Company’s safety rules and regulations with regard to work permit system. Participates in Emergency team and takes active part in all training and performance of the emergency team exercises.
Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor such as: assisting Supervisor in carrying out Computer System Engineers duties during leave/absence as required, producing standardised reports on preventive and breakdown maintenance work carried out, training developees on the job in the theory and practice of instrument maintenance and operation, maintaining good housekeeping ...etc.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements:
 
Secondary technical education certificate followed by 2 years full time training leading to a diploma in electronics/communication engineering.
3 years experience in repair/maintenance of modern electronics and/or electronically operated equipment mainly in computer aided telemetry systems and micro-processor based devices, preferably related to the oil/gas industry.
Good knowledge of English.
