Job Description
Job Purpose:
Supervise all surface and sub-sea operations for inspection and maintenance of infrastructure such as mooring assemblies, navigation systems and hose gear to ensure these operate to their optimum level and take responsibility for the diving workshop on the occasions when the regular diving supervisor is called away on leave and provide back up support and assistance to the other diving supervisors.
Key Accountabilities:
Supervision of Subordinates:
Organise and supervise the activities and work of divers to ensure that all work within a specified area of the diving activity is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with standard operating procedures and processes.                                                      
Monitor and supervise all diving operations by way of the audio-visual communication channels in order to provide technical advice and ensure correctness of assessments and work undertaken.
Operations and Maintenance:
Plan, prioritize, allocate and supervise the surface and sub-seas operations for inspection and maintenance of infrastructure such as mooring assemblies, navigation systems and hose gear to ensure these operate to their optimum level of efficiency and effectiveness.
Plans and Projects:
Coordinate with the client and key operational staff such as diving supervisors to plan and ensure the integration of project activities and effective deployment of resources.            
Training and Development:
Maintain ongoing certification and organize client-approved training programs and safety drills to ensure all diving crew members are fully trained to undertake their work.                   
Organise training and development programs to meet identified training needs that support the achievement of business objectives to improve organization effectiveness and capabilities across the entire diving team.
Safety and Environment:
Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety and health of all diving team members deployed in offshore operations, can be assured in line with safety and health standards and regulations.        
Inventory Management:    
Maintain Inventories of Company and client equipment, spare parts and consumables to ensure effective levels of stockholdings and ready availability for operations.           
Emergency Drills Sessions:
Lead and supervise the emergency team in order to provide first line support and emergency response capability.               
Lead emergency drills to exchange experience and job related skills to develop team members' performance and capabilities in the long term.
Vessel Hull Surveys:
Liaise with Company management and key operational staff for the co-ordination of carrying out regular vessel hull surveys in order to facilitate the maintenance of safety and operational readiness.
Budgets and Plans:
Provide input to the preparation of the diving section budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues and ensure adequate provisions has been made for funding of all planned activities.   
MIS Reports:
Prepare and submit regular activity reports timely and accurately detailing findings and recommendations to Company management, client and third parties for their consideration and action to meet Company business objectives and to facilitate the improvement of business performance.
Liaise with clients and key operational staff to develop method statements and risk assessments for all planned major activities.
Job Context
Scope: Supervise the DSV, tanker loading terminals and offshore/inshore oil fields in the diving operations department.
Authority: The job demands compliance with clearly laid down international standards for safety of equipment and personnel. The Job holder is required to plan, supervise and develop schedules for inspection and monitoring of personnel and equipment to conform to regulations and safety standards.
Context: The Job is carried out in a demanding environment of unpredictable and hazardous sea conditions. The job holder has thus to be alert to the possibility of sudden dangers and take immediate action as called for by the contingent circumstances. Ensuring that all divers adhere to all international standards and all safety & operating procedures is a priority in the job for safety of staff and equipment. Keeping all diving staff full trained and diving equipment well maintained to ensure operational readiness is another priority. The Job holder needs to plan & implement schedules for inspection & monitoring of personnel & equipment to conform to regulations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements:
IMCA Air Diving supervisor modules 1 & 2 or equivalent.
HSE Part 1 Offshore Diver Certification is preferable.
Strong knowledge of sub-sea installation and equipment specifications. 
Diving First Aid certificate and IMCA Dive Medical Technician certification 
Minimum 8 years of experience in general diving operations with at least 3 years at the supervisory level. 
Commercial awareness of the current diving environment with Strong knowledge of sub-sea installation and equipment specifications.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and maintaining the current logbook.
Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of MS Office Package including spreadsheet applications. 
Good team leader/player with proven integrity, cool headed and quick decision making and response in emergency situations.
