Job Description
Basic Function:
 
Assist the Shift Superintendent to operate the plant efficiently and safely to optimize output in the area of his responsibility as thereby facilitate achievement of production targets whilst adhering to Quality and NSF standards. 
Conduct operational/technical on the job training activities for team as per advice from the job inspector.
 
Work Performed:
 
Check the plant and equipment for abnormalities and keep the Shift Controller well informed about the activities in his assigned area to facilitate uninterrupted operations.
Communicate with preview shift to understand the work status of the assigned area, ensure steady operation, handover the shift to incoming Shift Controller whist maintaining accurate and concise log book and reports for future reference.
Carry out routine monitoring of all operations to ensure daily operating conditions are as per set standards.
Ensure adherence to functional policies, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
Supervise proper implementation of the process isolations in the field and of the safety inhibits in the sub-stations to ensure adherence to Company standards.
Co-ordinate and follow-up all field operational, maintenance and HSE activities to ensure adherence to procedures.
Execute the critical operating procedures this includes start-up & shut-down of Units, commissioning and testing of equipment to facilitate upkeep of plant integrity.
Direct and advice team on maintenance of high standards of housekeeping in his assigned area to ensure and accident free/productive work environment.
Initiate work order through MAXIMO system, receive critical work and follow up to ensure timely completion of tasks as per stipulated standards.
Assist Shift Controller in handling emergencies both process and safety related and fill the IRIC positions and co-ordinate during emergencies as per Facility Response Plan.
Conduct operational and HSE toolbox meetings and ensure follow up of al agreed action points.
Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all relevant internal departments & external entities such as Service providers etc with highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner.
Provide inputs and suggestions for the continuous improvement of office engineering practices taking into account 'best practice' international standards to improve efficiency & effectiveness and changes in business environment.
Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Facilitate the development of a competent work force and support Emiratization target by identifying gaps in staff competencies and develop them to meet Company Human Capital requirements.
Participate in the implementation of competency based Training & Development programs, through use of Personal Development Plans and UAE Nationalization directives by Coaching and Assessing of the CAMS engineer and CAS operators.
Ensure accurate recording of information concerning the operation of the plant whilst taking corrective action when required and report such information to Shift Controller to facilitate decision making.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements:
 
Bachelors in Engineering or equivalent engineering qualification.
Minimum 7 years experience in operations, 5 years of which must have been in a Senior Supervisory capacity.
Strong leadership skills.
Good communication skills (both verbal & written).
