Job Description
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
 
Implement HSE policy and procedures and lead the process of identifying hazards in the workplace. 
Monitor risks to ensure that corrective and controlling actions are implemented. 
Constantly assess the safety and security aspects on the terminal and suspend operations where required and refuse any ship that arrives without proper authorization and documentation. 
Demonstrate compliance to the requirements of applicable legal requirements and  Ports policies and procedures. 
Ensure that Vessels are using allocated berth. Work within allocated financial budgets whist maintaining best in class service levels Administer & /or oversee reporting and financial requirements, as well as personnel and legal obligations Obtain in depth knowledge of customers trades routes, scheduling, volumes, practices, trends and share the same with management. 
Coordinate with commercial department Customers requirements and tenants on behalf of  Port. 
Ensure customers requirement are met satisfactorily within the framework of operational and commercial terms. 
Communicate and coordinate with the government stakeholders - and enhance the relationship between  Ports & government departments Identify and trouble shoot issues on a daily basis Liaise with marine department over any issues and ensure all marine legal requirements are adhered to. 
Oversee that all correct and required documents are received well in time and submitted to concerned parties Report problems and issues especially issues of complexity that may impact on the operation. 
Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the line manager 
Ability to form working relationships with people at all levels Monitor staff performance and attendance. 
Organize along with the training department required staff training activities Recognize and reinforce strong performance in the employees, and identify and encourage improvement where needed. 
Strategic Responsibilities: Evaluate current business processes and systems Implement policies, procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
 
Bachelor’s Degree. IMDG Certificate a plus
