Control all shipping movements in service harbor, ensure safe entry, berthing and sailing of vessels. Participate in the sessions / workshops for all new Marine projects.
Organize the night dispensation permit for night operations at Jetty 
 
Principal Accountabilities 
 
a. Supervise and closely control all navigation and shipping movements in and around the service harbor. Maintain close watch by VHF radio, and allocate berths to vessels. May order closure of harbor in adverse weather condition and refuse to allow certain vessels to berth at jetty due to tides, weather conditions and draught of vessel. 
b. Assure safe & swift allocation of required boats for oil spill combating in relation / communication with oil spill supervisor in order to release the team / equipment in proper timing. 
c. Issue and dispatch shipping notices, standing instructions and port operation manual to vessels and craft in the service harbor on regular basis, as and when required. Ensure that service harbor regulations and HSE rules are strictly implemented, in compliance with related International offshore operations rules and regulations. 
d. Ensure all working areas are safe through organizing and planning of 24-Hour working operations at Jetty, including all contractors’ required dispensation documents. 
e. Assess the status and working condition of navigational aids in the harbor, light buoys and other navigational lights on weekly basis to ensure proper functioning and report defects to the concerned for necessary action, to maintain adequate safety and reliability through offshore classification, and in line with highest International HSE standards. 
f. Monitor the recording of meteorological data, such as temperature, pressure, wind direction and velocity, waves and humidity three times per day, and transmit information to Radio Room, all vessels at Jetty and weather synopsis compilation, if needed.
g. Conduct other similar or related duties, such as updating navigational.
h. Participate in the weekly sea trial of the sea rescue boat. Act as on-call duty officer for sea rescue operation in case of emergency. 
i. Generate, review and amend the monthly performance reports for jetty occupancies, fuel consumption& other activities on jetty. 
j. Monitoring movement of all vessels entering, berthing and leaving the service harbor, as well as vessels sheltering in the vicinity of the Island. Submit a summary of the traffic to management .

a. First Mate’s Certificate (F.G.)
