Job Description
This position is responsible for the physical execution of the business development strategy and the achievement of business development financial as well as non-financial targets; developing new and existing business opportunities; expanding existing relationships and attracting new customers and revenue lines for the Company Units.
Establishes and maintains a highly professional relationship to the various decision makers within the customer organizations, acting  as one of the company’s main relationship ambassadors. Manages the Company commercial development at a corporate level with a focus on delivering corporate level initiatives aimed at significant revenue growth
Core Responsibilities:
Business Development
Identify and/or create opportunities for economic and commercial value creation through the development of new businesses and expansions of established Company capabilities & assets.
Identify and follow up on business leads as required in order to achieve overall strategic goals of Company
Identify, review and propose alliances/joint venture opportunities where appropriate.
Negotiate commercial contractual agreements relating business opportunities.
Develops, maintains and expands relationships with both existing and potential customers and partners.
Contributes to making improvements to existing systems, practices and approaches and influences productivity issues and working methods to meet customer needs.
Actively translates the business targets and budgets into tangible plans and action items
Is responsible for the initiation and management of commercial and business models development for the purpose of seeking approval for business opportunities at an executive management level
Working Relationship
People Management Responsibilities:
Takes ownership of the day to day management of the Business Development opportunities across all Company business units
Manages, coaches and develops direct or indirect (dotted line) reports.
Works together with Human Resources on recruitment and organizational restructuring efforts as required
Objectives and Role Profile
Market Intelligence and Performance Monitoring
Oversees monitoring of the commercial performance of existing company, industrial and Freezones & marine services companies and compares results against agreed benchmarks and KPIs. Initiates corrective action where required.
Oversees monitoring of pricing, market share development and commercial performance of competing and companies.
Develop and apply commercial benchmarks for Company.
Establish commercial benchmarking against leading Company internationally.
Desired Candidate Profile
Requires at least ten (10) years of relevant experience in the Maritime Transportation and related industries and with sufficient operational understanding.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to meet directly with customers and represent the company in a professional, competent manner.
Requires excellent negotiation skills & the ability to build relationships with external parties.
Requires good analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyze data.
Requires exceptional time management and organizational skills
Must be able to work independently without supervision
Must be able to prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations
