Scope of Duties

 

• Use a variety of Pneumatic, electrical, and hand tools for the specific jobs. Able to identify and use a variety of test and measurement equipments including digital and analogue voltmeters, pneumatic and smart calibrators.

• Performs a variety of skilled work related to installation, calibration of control valves, pressure, level, and temperature controllers, including running and tracing complex loop wiring.  Able to read /understand the P&ID’s, loop sheets, cause & effects and schematic diagrams. 

• Carry out the duties of an instrument fitter, able to select the fitting materials suitable for Cryogenic, steam and corrosive services.  

• Assist in complex trip test and function testing of control loops, must have knowledge of trip sequences and process fault finding.  

• Must adhere strictly to the company’s standard, codes, and practices. Familiar with similar permit system and area classifications. 

• Must have good working knowledge of the vocabulary and stores systems to identify, and selects the correct application of spare parts and engineering materials.

• Give job directions and instructions to Instrument fitters and Laborers assigned to work with him.

• Ability to prepare simple reports containing measurement data or summaries of problems relevant to his post.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

• Completion of technical secondary education (12 years) / apprenticeship certificate or equivalent.

• 5 years minimum experience in oil and gas industry.

• Fair knowledge of spoken and written English.
