Job Description
Scope of Duties
 
Use a variety of Pneumatic, electrical, and hand tools for the specific jobs. Able to identify and use a variety of test and measurement equipments including digital and analogue voltmeters, pneumatic and smart calibrators.
Performs a variety of skilled work related to installation, calibration of control valves, pressure, level, and temperature controllers, including running and tracing complex loop wiring.  Able to read /understand the P&ID’s, loop sheets, cause & effects and schematic diagrams. 
Carry out the duties of an instrument fitter, able to select the fitting materials suitable for Cryogenic, steam and corrosive services.  
Assist in complex trip test and function testing of control loops, must have knowledge of trip sequences and process fault finding.  
Must adhere strictly to the company’s standard, codes, and practices. Familiar with similar permit system and area classifications. 
Must have good working knowledge of the vocabulary and stores systems to identify, and selects the correct application of spare parts and engineering materials.
Give job directions and instructions to Instrument fitters and Laborers assigned to work with him.
Ability to prepare simple reports containing measurement data or summaries of problems relevant to his post.

Minimum Requirements
 
Completion of technical secondary education (12 years) / apprenticeship certificate or equivalent.
5 years minimum experience in oil and gas industry.
Fair knowledge of spoken and written English.
