Job Description
Basic Function and Scope:
 
To provide expert technical support to the Operations Divisions in the fields of mettalurgy, corrosion, materials selection, Risk Based Inspection, Failure Analysis, Fitness for Service Assessments, Repair, Design and Execution Plans, welding, QA/QC Documentation including Quality Plan and procedures, ITPs, PQRs, WPSs, Weld Maps and Work Instructions.
Support the Integrity Assurance Manager in developing and assuring the Company Asset Integrity Framework, in particular developing and consistent application of Asset integrity and materials management standards to all Company process facilities.
 
Task, Duties and Accountabilities:
 
To support the operating plant and new projects with expert technical support and advice in the fileds of mettalurgy, corrosion, materials selection, Risk Based Inspection, Failure Analysis, Fitness for service assessments, Repair Design and Execution Plans, welding, QA/QC Documentation including Quality Plan and procedures, ITPs, PQRs, WPSs, Weld Maps and Work Instructions.
To develop and apply knowledge of Corrosion and Cathodic Protection monitoring programs and Chemical inhibition requirements for sour Service Production Facilities.
To lead or participate in incident Root Cause and other investigations. Identify remedial actions and optimum solutions to improve integrity and availability.
To supervise technical studies, research and failure analysis in the area of asset integrity management to proactively identify areas of improvement and innovation to incorporate lessons learn and to recommend upgrades, modifications and improvements to the existing facilities.
To provide the main technical and risk related data inputs to the Company Risk Based Inspection system and to lead periodic, cyclic Risk Based Inspection reviews based on actual inspections results.
To update and improve inspection plans based on inspection results, feedback from field experience and technical developments.
Support the Integrity Assurance Manager in developing and assuring the Company Asset Integrity Framework and Inspection Standard, based on Company guidelines and industry best practice in particular developing and consistent application of Asset Integrity and materials management standards to all Company Process facilities.
To lead and participate in integrity assurance audits, to ensure the integrity of Company assets throughout the asset life cycle, starting with the projects phase through to operation, maintenance and de –commisioning phases.
To identify and apply new inspection and asset integrity assurance techniques which may be relevant to Company. Seek, share knowledge, introduce and adopt best practive solutions and lessons learned from other Company group companies.
To mentor and develop UAE National process engineers, both initially as CAMS and longer terms as fully professional engineers.
 

 

Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements
 
Bachelor of Science Metallurgy engineering preferably in Material Management or equivalent degree with minimum of 8 years experience.
Familiarity with API 510, 570, 574, and in depth knowledge of API 579, 580 and 581.
Welding inspection qualification, being a Certified Welding Inspector would be an advantage.
On site experience with refining, petrochemical or gas plants.
Experience in onshore remote/desert operations.
Experience in H2S operations or High Sour Gas Fields.
Experience in commissioning activities within projects, preparing for operational phase is desirable.
Proven and strong interpersonal, influence and negotiation skills.
Willingness to relocate during any potential engineering and construction phases.
