Job Description
Purpose and Scope:
Site Superintendent provides refining-wide leadership in matters related to the execution,  governance and analysis of plant turnarounds. Develops, leads, and sustains the site turnaround organization. Serves as Site Superintendent for execution of high complexity turnaround. Provides the site focus for the Turnaround Execution Process.
Duties Performed:
Providing immediate direction,   instruction, co-ordination and technical assistance to  his  Deputy overhaul manager and Area Engineers  in order to execute the full overhaul scope of work in  accordance with the Shutdown Plan.
Maintain a high level of productivity and quality of'all work  performed, and ensure  high standards of safe working practices/conditions are adhered.
Co-ordinate with  the Overhaul Manager/Deputy manager,  and other Senior Company staff  as necessary
Monitor and follow up mobilisation and demobilisation of manpower, equipment,   transport,  sub-contractors  as  per  the  Shutdown  plan and  as directed by the   Overhaul Manager (Company)
Periodical Progress status reports during daily turnaround progress review meeting 
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with  Company standards / procedures in safe work practice environment.
To identify areas  of concern, propose remedial actions and implement the same as  agreed with Company.
Co-ordinate & direct sub-contractor activities and integrate them into the overhaul  plan as required
Ensure,  in co-ordination with  his Deputy,  the availability of all sub-contract  services, spares, tools, etc,  as required during the shutdown
Compliance to goals for safety and environmental performance during TurnAround execution
Ensure work execution adheres to the defined quality as per the TA  Execution Plan
Execution of the T/A Event scope of work per the execution plan and within the defined parameters for HSE, quality, cost and schedule.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical  Engineering or equivalent
Min 15 years out of which 10 years in Execution of Shutdowns, Turnarounds and Revamp Project in Oil & Gas Field Environment.
8 year experience in field maintenance in oil refinery, gas or petrochemical  industries with  a sound technical knowledge and  experience of maintaining  heat exchangers,  vessels, columns, tanks,  absorbers,  driers,   safety valves,  piping networks,  pressure testing  equipment, pumps. compressors,  turbines  and utility plants  (boilers)
Experience of the fabrication of process equipment &piping spools. Experience of PWHT, non-destructive material testing techniques.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of API / ASTM / ASME/ANSI/TEMA/R/B31.3 Standards and be able to read / interpret technical documents, isometrics & engineering drawings. A sound knowledge of  spares and materials management is essential.
Must have experience of working  in a multinational  environment and be able to  administer a team including   his  Deputy, . Superintendents, Area Engineers,  Supervisors and technicians/labourers (including sub-contractors)
Able to read computerized schedules (e.g.: scheduling logic, manpower resource loading & histograms)
Must have been overhaul manager on a Turnaround for a minimum of 350000+ man-hours.
Strong adrninistrative and communication skills are essential
Fluent in English, both spoken and written
