Job Description
Will be the consultant with prime responsibility for ensuring the environmental systems, reporting and management meet National and COMPANY’s requirements and will be the adjudicator on these requirements.
Shall have more than 5 years’ experience with surveys of this type and disposition, of which at least 2 years must be in a supervisory or management capacity. Further preference will be given to candidates with a higher degree in an Environmental, Biological, Ecological or Zoological discipline and who have worked or researched in the region previously
 
Duties will comprise but not be limited to:
 
COMPANY’s authority in the field for environmental considerations; Reporting to Team Leader
Supporting all other Consultants for environmental advice and requirements;
Issuing environmental information for inclusion to daily production reports in a format and at a time as agreed with COMPANY;
Ensuring the acquisition contractor is working to the required operational standards and specifications in all environmental respects. For the avoidance of doubt, this means all those duties ordinarily expected of an experienced client representative environmental expert in terms of required Fauna and Flora reporting, operations control for acquisition sources such as required to fulfil marine mammal observation (MMO) obligations and compliance to standing COMPANY environmental technical guidance, acquisition contractor’s environmental procedure acceptability, environmental audits, tests including sampling and drills, environmental operations effectiveness, compliance with National and Company Code of Practice for the environment, and reporting including sightings, statistics, analysis and such like activities;
Coordinating environmental support for acquisition activities especially where any environmental impact will cause changes to activity or management such as the setting of environmental exclusion zones;
Supplying and supporting initiatives through experience for the betterment of the seismic survey.
Will be expected to create, maintain and deliver a full habitat, sightings and behavioural report including statistical representations of mammalian and other marine life habits and seismic activities over the period of the survey with correlation to MetOcean conditions at the time.
Will be expected to produce a comprehensive joint final report on the survey with other Consultants
