JOB PURPOSE:

Lead and manage provision of process engineering services to all company division via the development and consistent application of standards related to process engineering across all company sites and minor projects to contribute to high safety and reliability of operations and fulfillment of production targets.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

Technical Support and Advisory

• Act as Technical Authority in areas of process engineering to ensure that all procass-engineering activities are done competently according to recognized codes and standards

• Manage provision of effective technical advice and expert support in the trouble shooting and to contribute to high reliability and efficiency of the existing operations and success of company Projects. Advise on utilization of new process technologies based on actual needs of the different operating units

• Advise and support the operating divisions regarding environmental issues and energy optimization studies with the aim of minimizing environmental impact by reducing emissions to the environment and optimizing energy utilization.

Technical Coordination

• Coordinate with companies and internal company customers for process engineering activities relevant to importing and exporting process streams from to these companies

• Support the chemical engineering department of the local universities in their research activities by providing suggestions and data that will guide research and ensure that such research has relevance and potential benefit to company activities/operations

Projects and Pre Qualification

• Review and advise the required update of Company DGS (Design General Specifications) to the concerned party within Companies Standard Drawings related to process engineering to ensure high-class Company Design General Specifications and Drawings are updated, developed, maintained and implemented on all phases of minor Projects being executed by the Projects Group, based on Companies guidelines and industry best practice.

• Provide direction to internal end users as well as to endorse Pre-FEED and FEED, and the changes in specifications/design of EPC for all projects to ensure consistent applicalion of technical standards and designs.

• Ensure the review and endorsement of the prequalification of suppliers, vendors, manufacturer, consultants and contractors to ensure that hired suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, consultants and contractors are qualified and competent to supply goods / provide services to the Company.

Process Engineering Systems

• Ensure that most reliable simulation software is being used effectively and efficiently in all areas of process engineering, unit operations, and HSE activities. Ensure all department staff is adequately trained and competent to use the provided software.

Operational Plans

• Develop consistent and realistic long and short term operational plans for the Department in line with the Division objectives and manage the implementation of the approved long and short term plans and ensure they are effectively converted into its performance objectives to realise the Division Objectives and established service- levels.

Budgets and Operational Plans

• Develop and manage the Department annual budget in line with the Division's business objectives and operational plans ensuring that adequate funding provision is made for all Department activities.

• Monitor expenditure against approved Department budget on a regular basis; investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

• Develop and implement appropriate Department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls, Company guidelines in order to support execution of the Division's work programs

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. 

• 12 years of experience, including experience in Process Technology, Process Control and Environment works, of which 6 years in a Senior Supervisor position in Oil & Gas Industry.
