Job purpose & Scope:

Monitor and control oil production and water injection facilities in Satah Oil Field / Water Injection Plant, taking actions within standing instructions to ensure the safe operation of the field and WI plant to specified production levels.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Monitors and controls operational performance of Well Head platforms (WHP), Production Manifold Platform (PMP), and Water Injection Plant (WIP).
• Checks the operation of the wellhead platforms and the flowing / injection status frequently. If a string has ceased to flow due to any other reason, informs Field team to initiate action to revive.
• Constantly monitors Satah Field (WHP’s / PMP) and WI plant parameters and adjust accordingly. Advise Field & WI teams to initiate necessary actions as required to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
• Constantly monitors the new DCS, ESD, PLC & Fire/Gas System and takes corrective actions as required.
• Coordinates with Field team and ZIRKU while pigging operation of Water, Oil, and Gas lines and ensure they were effective and performed within agreed procedures.
• Coordinates with Plant Operators during plant shutdown / start up, process upsets, permutation of equipment, and altering process conditions.
• Depressurizing / pressurizing oil flow lines and performs remote operation and required coordination with field personnel for Rig or Barge moves.
• Monitors the Start / Stop sequence of equipment.  In case the sequence is aborted, identify the reason and coordinate with corresponding Plant Operator to take corrective action.
• Communicate alarms with plant operator to investigate the cause and rectify as required.
• Starts Fire Pumps and informs plant operators to activate deluge during emergencies as required.
• At WIP, issues work permits already approved by the supervisor, after making sure that all safety precautions prescribed in the permit are fulfilled; and checks the equipment for correct operation when maintenance work is completed or after inspection.
• At WIP, lead and guide Operators and helpers working with him in accordance with established programs and instructions.
• At WIP, monitors and controls all activities, being his area of responsibility, conforming to “HSE standards and guidelines” set by the company
• At WIP, follow up the Chemical treatment programs and maintain inventory.  Updates chemical and lab material stocks and prepares bi monthly stock reports.
• Monitors the quality of the product, intermediates, and takes necessary corrective actions when the lab analysis indicates deviation from standard norms.
• Reports any deviation in parameters, and abnormalities in operation, to concerned team and Operation Supervisor.
• Records activities planned Inspection, Maintenance, and Shutdown.  Maintains log book for both Satah Field and WI Plant.
• Prepares / generates various reports as per procedure, which are required for Management review / HSE standards and guidelines.
• Ensures weekly and monthly schedules are maintained for pumps performance tests,  Oil / Gas /Water lines pigging, corrosion monitoring, lab tests, total oil flow measurements, fire water pumps weekly test run, fire fighting monthly function test and fire and gas alarms weekly tests.
• Monitors and controls all activities within his area of responsibility are conforming to “HSE Standards & Guide lines” set by the Company.
• Receives emergency calls and responds as necessary. Under emergencies, carrys out individual plant shutdown or field shutdown as the situation warrants.
• Follows up the implementation of Work permit system and issues safety lock off certificates.
• Guides & develops U.A.E national developees to achieve their target position set by hierarchy.
• Carries out the job function in accordance with HSE Commitment and Policy of the strategic objectives and targets stipulated in COMPANY HSE Management System Documents.

Minimum Requirements:

• Completion of secondary technical education (12 years), preferably with advanced vocational technical qualifications.
• 5 years experience in a modern process plant such as a refinery/fertilizer plant, utilizing a computerized control system.
• Good knowledge of English.
