Job Description



Supervise the operation of Central Separation Plant and Gas Treatment Plant. Ensure that production targets are met and that plants are operating efficiently, safely and economically.




  • Ensure that the Central Separation and Gas Treatment plants are operated efficiently, safely and economically in accordance with approved procedures and instructions.
  • Take necessary measures to deal with planned and unforeseen fluctuations and keep production personnel concerned and other departments informed of changes, and obtain permission for making changes, as necessary.
  • Prepare for a review, modifications to enhance production, injection and safety of the installations.
  • Plan procedures of work to ensure the safe and efficient working of the plant, and supervises the implementation of this.
  • Approve and issue work permits for each category; prepare equipment for maintenance or repair work and after work is completed to review maintenance work and test equipment, and prepare it for operation.
  • Ensure a high level of safety throughout the plants; reacting to emergency situations when they occur and taking action in line with standing instructions. Is in charge of the first action for firefighting until transferred to higher authority.
  • Instruct operators in isolating and ensuring that plant and equipment are free of gas and safe for maintenance, repair, overhaul or modifications.
  • Ensure that accurate records are kept of consumables used in the plants, and issues requisitions for new material to ensure enough inventories are available.
  • Keep a log book of occurrences, plant conditions, instructions and work to be carried out, and check the log books kept by the Senior Operators,
  • Ensure the periodical and recommended chemical batches out for subsea trunks lines between Zakum and Zirku.
  • Prepare for review, detailed procedures to be followed in non-routine circumstances
  • Reviewing and participate in new engineering package to make sure the new design are compatible and according to standard and allowable operation requirement.
  • Continuous enhancement of current operating philosophy and development of current practices.
  • Keeping high level of equipment integrity and eliminating any integrity threats.
  • Identify training needs of his subordinates, initiate training activities for them, and may participate in such training.
  • Be ultimately responsible for good housekeeping within his plant.
  • Monitors and controls all activities within his area of responsibility are conforming to "HSE standards & guide lines" set by the company.
  • Guide & Develop U.A.E national developees to achieve their target position set by hierarchy
  • Monitor personnel performance and elevate their skills and competencies as high as possible.
  • Maintain Team Work Inspirit across the team and continuous motivation with high level of safety.
  • Maintain high safety practices and awareness among the team and keep high safe practices.


Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualification


  • B. Sc. in Chemical Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • 8 to 10 years production or refinery experience in the petroleum industry including gas processing experience, including 3 years in a supervisory position.


Professional Certifications


  • B. Sc. in Chemical Engineering with 4 to 5 years' experience.
