Job Description

Job Purpose:

 

Responsible for providing support to all barges under Shutdown and campaign department for all the issues required for smooth and uninterrupted operations of barges. The scope includes but is not limited to close coordination with Marine/ HSE/IT/ PR/HR/T&CM /Finance / Inventory and warehouse/ Logistics and shipping for all technical and administrative support. Participates and coordinates in preparation of barge movement and material  delivery assurance program

 

Principal Accountabilities

 

  • Ensures the coordination of the Barge activities with concerned Divisions / Responsible Officer/Contractor and close follow up for all activities relate to the manpower, materials required for support barge operations at offshore sites
  • Participates in Barge program and provides Planning Team Leader with all required Technical information
  • Co-ordinate with other Divisions (CED, LD & Site) and arrange Documents such as Barge Orientation diagrams and sea bed surveys etc. 
  • Follow up with GSD to ensure barge Certification validity including Navigation License, Insurance policy, Load line inspection, Machinery Survey, Hull annual, Safety Equipment Renewal and interim Certificate.
  • Co-ordinate with concerned Contractor and arrange DGPS survey during Barge Move
  • Coordinates and acts as a focal point for matters related to Barge personnel including contractors, service providers, follows up with documentation all legal requirement and Participates in job interviews as when assigned by S&C TL and BTLs.
  • Participates with Marine department in risk assessment exercise for Barge movement. Coordinates the implementation of Barge HSE program as per company & department objectives.
  • Participated in Risk register meeting related to Barges and follow-up with related Disciplines for Action/Close Out
  • Coordinate with Barge Team Leaders to ensure allocation of barge materials by identification of shortages and surplus material.
  • Coordinates and follows up with commercial purchases requisition related to barge Maintenance and recreation activities.
  • Assists Barge Team Leaders in identifying personnel training needs, coordinate all training and coaching activities. Assist in training of Emirates trainee staff. Carries out regular visits in order to discuses and follows up outstanding issues related to Barge activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by S&C TL, BTL & MM, such as: routine correspondence, Barge recreation requirement, arranging taskforce members, attend meeting on behave.
  • Provides inputs to the JO’s/TL in the tender evaluation process for the selection of barge / maintenance boat contractors and contributes relevant professional input.
  • Co-ordinate between Barge, Stores, Dispatch and Shipping Team and arrange issue and transport of materials related to WHT and facilities turnarounds

 

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:

 

  • Diploma or Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • 5 – 6 years experience in major maintenance activities preferably in the Hydro Carbon Industry plus 2 – 3 years experience in offshore Maintenance Barge location.
  • Very good knowledge of English Language with excellent communication skills.
