Job Description
Job Duties but not limited to
Supervise and carry out the Installation, maintenance, commissioning, repair & testing of electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and analytical instruments and control/ Safety systems in the operating areas in line with HSE Guidelines, Operating & Maintenance Procedures and the Permit to Work system.
Carries out planned (preventive & routine) maintenance activities, repair and testing of instrumentation/control devices and systems in assigned field in accordance with set plans and standard procedures.
Participates in major overhaul and shutdown maintenance activities as assigned by Engineers. Includes carrying out shutdown preparation, data collection and condition monitoring duties as assigned.
Investigates and troubleshoots maintenance problems. Implements fault-finding routines and procedures, diagnoses problems and takes appropriate action including devising and implementing solutions in consultation with supervisor and other colleagues.
Assists supervisor in maintaining an efficient workshop services in support of maintenance activities.
Perform field and/or system modifications of control elements and/or control loops as per the plant change requests and assist to update all related plant drawings to reflect the actual changes thus enhancing the plant operation in line with the management of change of procedure.
Initiates the updating of maintenance records for assigned equipment and plant. Prepares records and processes for supervisor’s endorsement and subsequent input in the CMMS.
Prepares and maintains a variety of records, files and statements related to maintenance and possibly administrative matter, as assigned.
Understands the Company health, safety and environmental policy and how it relates to his job. Performs his work in a safe and efficient manner, and is familiar with relevant safe working procedures and practices. Performs specific safety management system program activities assigned to him by his supervisor.
Ensures the provision of adequate supply of non-stock materials spares consumable items in local stores and raises necessary documentation for issue of stock items and/or procurement of direct purchase items.
Provides full technical details of material, code numbers, other buying descriptions, cost estimates and process to supervisor for endorsement and further action.
Inspects materials received to ensure conformance to required specifications and arranges witnesses testing/operational use of spares to verify compatibility with existing equipment, as instructed.
Participates in commissioning of new projects and installation of new equipment.
Involves in quality inspections by identifying punch points during project construction/new installation and follows up till closure.   
Plan and supervise the maintenance activities of a wide range of instrument & control systems in the plant and coordinate these activities with operations and other maintenance teams to ensure reliable functioning of the instrument and control systems.
Provide support to the operations and maintenance teams for equipment testing, troubleshooting, routine equipment surveillance and start-up activities. Liaise with Mechanical and Electrical sections and establish a seamless integration between operation and maintenance teams tonsure compliance to the planned maintenance activities.
Provide technical support in the field for the execution of critical maintenance activities of the equipments to ensure that the problems are resolved with minimum down time.
Evaluate, allocate and arrange the manpower requirements for daily preventive, break down and shutdown maintenance plans.
Assess the workload, backlog and the work plan and coordinate with relevant sections to complete the work plan. Monitor and arrange the resources for the effective compliance to the agreed work plan.
Monitor and control required material, spares, consumables and tools in high quality and quantities to ensure continuous availability.
Conduct and implement root cause analysis of equipment failures and non-scheduled shutdowns and recommend problem resolutions to increase the reliability and availability of equipment
Provide input to prepare and track the forthcoming major maintenance, upgrades and obsolescence issues to integrate with the division’s 5 years’ rolling business plans
Provide technical support for development, implementation and commissioning of new projects in the mechanical design and specifications to optimize costs and ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
Participate in defining the technical requirements, technical bid evaluation and inspection of materials on receipt to ensure specifications and required quality. Monitor the performance of Contractors for the assigned works to ensure quality and standards.
Coordinating & managing a pool of Technicians, Labors and various department machineries in such a manner to obtain maximum output.
Member of Trouble Shooting Teams (TST) for Water Injection and Central Degassing Station (CDS) for attending emergency conditions after duty hours.
Preventive and Corrective maintenance of various instrumentation systems of Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Electronic in nature, used in Oil Production facilities such as Production Well Heads, Water Injection Clusters, Remote and Central Degassing Stations, etc.
Involving in the maintenance of Fire and Gas detection systems, ESD System, Overhauling activities of Water Injection Clusters and Production Trains, Mothballing and De-mothballing of Oil Production Well Heads.
Rising HSE Reports and Suggestions to the Safety Department.
Member of Fire Auxiliary Team (FAT) that supports Safety and Loss Prevention (SLP) Department and Fire Fighting Crew in case of an emergency.
Using the PLC, DCS and SCADA Systems.
Breakdown, Corrective, Preventive, Shutdown maintenance of various Packages and Equipment in Gas Compressor Stations.
Preparing Work Order List from ERP and managing execution of the same ensuring schedule compliance.
Preparing Weekly and Monthly Summary of Maintenance Activities for Management.
Analysis of Plant Upsets/Trips and prepare Failure Reports.
Procurement of urgent spares directly through LVPO: Preparation of RFQs and Technical Evaluation of Bids.
Interface with Supply Chain Management regarding Procurement and Replenishment of spares.
Assisting Auditors for Process Safety Audit and Maintenance Verification audit.
Review of Engineering Design documents, SPIRs, Operation/Maintenance Manual, Work Method Instructions, etc.
Participate Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT) of various Packages and Systems.
Pre-commissioning/ Functional Test/Commissioning of New Facilities and Packages.
Work Flow and Material management by using Maximo.
Retrieving Preventive & Corrective Work Orders from the Maximo Database and executing it based on priority and in a timely manner.
Preparing Work Request, Inventory Request & Labor Reports, etc.
To carry out Troubleshooting, Preventive & Predictive maintenance in Instrumentation, Fire & Gas and Telemetry Systems. Involved in installation and commissioning of new SCADA system for all the well head towers.
Instrument Technician test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices.
Carries out routine maintenance and testing activities 
Completes fault-finding and repair of instrumentation / electronic systems and equipment 
Modifies, repairs or replaces systems and equipment 
Installs new systems and equipment as required 
 
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirement
Professional Knoweledge in English Language ( reading, writing and speaking )
Mandatory Certificates : H2S , HSE Safety Induction , First Aid
Huge Advantage for personnel holding T-BOSIET, HUET and FOET
Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation and Control or Electronics discipline or equivalent Professional Qualification.
4 years of experience in Instrument and Control technician and at least 2 years as Instrument and Control Supervisor.
