Objective 

Supervises and directs all the operational and maintenance activities for Maintenance Unit. Ensures activities are carried out in compliance with set specifications. Ensures provision of required materials and spare parts as per the required standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervises assigned staff by giving work directions, reviewing activities and ensuring efficient and satisfactory performance. Performs managerial functions and exercises financial authority at the level established by management.
• Formulates annual preventive and corrective maintenance programs ensuring that it is within the assigned budget for submission to the Head of Maintenance for approval.
• Formulates short and long term plans, policies and procedures for the Unit in coordination with the Head of Section and Department Manager, and suggests for the improvement and modification of water network.
• Supervises water line diversion and main pipe breakdown, or water shut down to ensure that duties are carried out in accordance with the required standards and executed in a timely manner.
• Prepares daily work schedule for supervised staff. Assigns duties accordingly and directs efforts to achieve Departmental objectives.
• Plans and coordinates all approved requests raised through MAXIMO by consultation with concerned departments, to provide services in an efficient and timely manner.
• Ensures that queries and complaints are attended to appropriately and resolved in a timely manner. Investigates customer's complaints and specifies the degree of emergency.
• Presents daily/weekly and monthly reports regarding the work undertaken and accomplished by the Maintenance Unit, in order to provide detailed and current information to the relevant authority.
• Supervises working team for relocations of the water system larger diameter, and constructions of new chambers, to ensure timely assembly and maximum performance of the system.
• Coordinates with Asset Management Department and Customer Services to plan new relocations using GIS System. Directs subordinates to carry out digging after receiving municipality's approval.
• Develops the Unit budget, ensuring provision of sufficient resources to meet target goals and objectives of all functions involved.
• Oversees recruitment, training and development of Unit staff and development of UAE Nationals. Directs efforts to achieve Unit objectives.
• Performs other similar or related duties as and when assigned by the direct supervisor.

Job Requirements 

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

• Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent

• 8 years of experience in maintenance.
• Good interpersonal, communication, team building, people management, problem solving and customer service skills.
• Must be proficient in MS Office., GIS and MAXIMO Software is an added advantage.
• Valid UAE driving license.
• Excellent knowledge of Arabic & English.
