1. JOB PURPOSE:
Direct work of technicians and participate in carrying out maintenance and installation work on any or part of the electrical system in assigned areas of the Power Generation & Distribution Network plants and substations. Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner and according to Company's Standards, Codes and Practices.
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities
- Carry out skilled maintenance, and repair work on electrical equipment, including power generators, various types of switchgears, transformers, motors, heater circuits and systems and control circuits.
- Coordinate with Technicians the day-to-day Electrical maintenance activities in Power Generation & Distribution Network plants and substations and associated facilities as per Company standards and HSE regulations.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on electrical equipment including generating equipment, various types of motors and A/C alternators, resistances, contacts, wiring systems, gauges, analyzer control systems, etc.
- Diagnose faults and guide electrical Technicians/Senior Technicians in the repair of switchboards, faulty breakers, transformers, motors, protection systems, earthing systems, alarm system, etc. and ensure proper repairs are carried out.
- Carry out isolation of all electrical equipment including 11 KV feeder.
- Issue DANGER NOTICES as required.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and prepare preliminary drawings as required.
- Arrange for the selection of general engineering materials and spare parts required to perform assigned work.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to Company Trainees and other technicians to improve the work standard.
- Carry out regular daily check on housekeeping in Power Generation & Distribution Network plants and substations, prepare data sheets showing work completed for maintenance records, etc.
- Deputize for the Supervisor, Electrical Maintenance during his leave/absence.
- Demonstrate appropriate levels of knowledge and responsibility regarding Technical and Operational Integrity processes of AIRMS.

- Safeguard own Health and Safety, as well as that of the fellow employees, by paying attention to safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment and complying with applicable HSE requirements.
- Take action to INTERVENE and STOP any un-safe activity or non-compliance with HSE requirements, if witnessed, and report the incident – regardless of your position or that of the transgressor.

- Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition.
- Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.

- Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
- Inform the Maintenance Supervisor in case additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.

- Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and Company Code of Practices.
- Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.
Housekeeping
- Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.
Reports
- Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
- Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports.
3. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
- Has daily contact with Technicians, Supervisors of Electrical and related disciplines, and Operations Division personnel for the purpose of clarifying work requests and co-ordination.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Technical Secondary education/ Diploma or equivalent in Electrical
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum Experience
- 4 years’ experience in Electrical Maintenance in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry
- Knowledge & Skills
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Good Coordination Skills
- Good analytical skills with attention to details, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards
Professional Certifications
- Certification & Authorization of HV Electrical Isolation.
- Maintenance & Inspection of EX equipment (Hazardous area) is preferred.
5. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Authorization in HV Electrical Isolation.
- Competent in Power Generator overhauling, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
