Job Description

Basic Function:

• Carry out daily on-line condition monitoring activities and visual inspection of electrical equipment based on Maximo work orders.

• Prepare the work permit, relevant test equipment and inspection forms for the following day’s activities.

• Participate in toolbox talk and risk assessment meetings whenever requested to ensure safe execution of tasks.

• Collect technical data from the field and documents repository relevant to the electrical equipment under monitoring.

• Be familiar with the use, application and safety precautions in handling of electrical test equipment.

• Be familiar with the inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment such as transformers, motors, switchgears, batteries, UPS among others.

• Perform thermographic inspection on electrical switchgear, distribution boards, transformers, motors, batteries, heaters and perform other non-electrical surveys as required.

• Perform partial discharge testing and data acquisition on HV/MV motors, generators, switchgear, cables, and transformers.

• Carry out transformer oil sampling or provide direction and instruction to service contractor in accordance with the relevant standard.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Requirements:

• Electrical Condition monitoring Technician with Diploma in Electrical engineering and must have minimum 5 years’ experience in the Electrical Maintenance activities of HV/MV/LV generator, transformer, motor, switchgear, starters, batteries and UPS.

• Must be familiar with SLD, electrical test equipment, hazardous area classification, PTW system and electrical equipment applications.

• Must be proficient in MS Office application and report writing.
