Basic Function:

 

• Carry out the  activities of Mechanical   Maintenance   & repairs of Plants, Equipment and Installation in assigned area of responsibility i.e. Pipe & Vessels such as pipe line fabrications, valves, tanks, oil separators, vessels, knock out drums, air receivers, heat exchangers, stripper columns, pig receiver, safety relief valves, steam boilers, water production units, air dryers and all other static equipment's which related to Oil & Gas field.  Leads team of lower grade Fitters & Helpers in Maint/Major overhaul of the above mentioned equipment Work covers: Oil production plants-Zakum, Umm Shaif, Bunduq, CTU, LNG Manifold, API Separator, Flares, Tank Berth, Storex & Utilities areas.

 

Work Performed:

 

• Ensures adherence of subordinates and contracted workforce with Company's Health, Safety and  Environmental Management System. Ensures subordinates are in full compliance    of  all operating  and   maintenance  procedures   while   carrying  out  their maintenance activities.

• Ensures that all work carried out by their subordinates adheres to "Company and Best Industry  Practices".  Ensures   adherence     to  Company  Safety   Regulations    and UAE/Local prevailing Laws and Regulations.

• Ensures   Risk Assessment recommendations are  adhered to.  Ensures   all safety equipment under his custody is in proper operating condition and colour coded equipment  is up-to-date.

• Attends regular safety meetings and encourage HSEMS programme with subordinates. Obtains Safety Equipment for personnel.

• Carries out mechanical maintenance and repair activities in various operating areas; includes receiving work orders/instructions from and discussing/consulting with Senior Mechanical Technician to set priorities,     allocating work to subordinates, arranging for obtaining  work   permits   and  materials/spares as  requested   and  checking/inspecting completed work.

• Attends to emergency jobs in Process Plants, carryout spading/de-spading of live lines, checks site safety requirements i.e. scaffolding, B.A. Equipment and personally carries out or guides assigned Technicians/contractors' personnel.

• Receives planned maintenance work from Senior Mechanical Technician and executes accurately as per HSE and work procedures. Controls spares and materials assigned for his job. Ensures that tools are well maintained and kept in safe/reliable condition.

• Provides theoretical and practical instrument training for less experienced personnel, including Junior UAE Nationals, technicians and fitters. Participates in the Competency Assurance programme.

• Works in line with HSE policy, and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and  regulations by subordinates.

Minimum Requirements:

 

• Secondary education followed by two years formal training in Mechanical Trades or  equivalent.

• 3 years' experience in industrial mechanical works.

• Good command of Arabic and fair knowledge of English.
