Job Purpose:

 

• Supervises the work of his subordinates engaged in the planned maintenance and repair of different machines and equipment as assigned to him by the Foreman in charge.

• To have the ability to diagnose cause of equipment failure and accordingly request spare parts & consumables required for the job.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

• Plans the work order assigned to him and his subordinates (Up to 5 artisans).

• Checks the equipment to be repaired confirms the faults and instructs the repair procedure to be followed to his subordinates. Accordingly, he identifies and requisitions the necessary spare parts.

• Supervises and participates in all repair works, providing work directions to his subordinates. Checks all completed works and verify that the repaired equipment is in a sound and safe operational condition.

• Provide his Foreman with the required records and paper work of all completed jobs.

• Monitors the progress of planned maintenance programs assigned to him and strictly adhere to them.

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

 

• 10 years schooling followed by the equivalent of 2 years full time course at an accredited trade school in the mechanical repair and maintenance of construction equipment.

• Diversified experience (6-8 years) covering all types of construction equipment including proven competence as a supervisor.

• Good working knowledge of English (to read equipment manuals, parts list and repair instructions).
