Job Description
- Follow all standard operating procedures to carry out rigging procedures at the Offshore Loading terminals
- Direct, supervise and guide a team of Riggers to ensure the timely, safe and proper rigging for Offshore loading terminals (SPM’s) in order to connect or disconnect loading hoses to oil tankers as needed to fulfil the operating requirements
- Plan the rigging operations for each job taking into account the need for the standard or any special rigging equipment or gear and the organisation of the required resources for each job to meet the operational requirements.
- Ensure that all Riggers handle rigging equipment and gear in the appropriate manner which includes, but is not limited to the following activities, in order to meet the operational requirement:
- Select rigging gear, such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weight, size, operational requirement, and work schedule in order to carry out rigging operations.
- Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts in preparation for rigging operations.
- Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools to carry out rigging operations.
- Control movement of heavy rigging equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
- Test Rigging to ensure safety and reliability
- Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment.
