Job Description
Job duties but not limited to
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, repair, trouble shooting and modification activities of rotating equipment in the plant
- Ensure safe and efficient services of the rotating equipment.
- Review preventive maintenance plans
- Schedules, Prepare, and Supervise task list maintenance for rotating equipment in the plant.
- Provide guidance and advice on chronic problems.
- Review requirement for major repair
- Replacements to ensure that all equipment is in accordance with internationally recognized engineering standard.
- Participate in Risk Assessment exercises and prepare recommendations and guidelines to address the mitigations and controls.
- Ensure availability of spares, coordinate, and follow-up new material orders.
- Create new proposal for stocking spares (PFS) mainly for new equipment, create item change request, spare parts control, and delete unwanted inventories from the stock.
- Prepare new maintenance procedures, method statement for new activities and schedule long term activities as per plant shutdown schedules.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with other departments and teams to optimize the utilization of team manpower and to plan and control the major and minor shutdown activities and expenditures.
- Provide technical support for development. implementation and commissioning of new projects in the mechanical design and specifications to optimize costs and ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
- Prepare new plant change requests (PCR), study the proposed PCR for implementation and work out plans and schedules for implementing them.
- Participate in HAZOP review and SIL validation meetings.
- Carry out study for major rotating equipment frequent failures and provide recommendations.
- Participate in RCA for incidents related to rotating equipment and provide findings and recommendations.
- Participate in Site Performance Testing of Rotating Equipment
- Review work order, engineering packages, and mechanical engineering packages, comment highlight discrepancies/anomalies and approve.
- Coordinate and conduct regular meetings with all stake holders to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions
- Carries out and co-ordinates engineering and design activities of a wide variety of Plant and equipment in the Process, Utilities and Off-plots areas. Such as pumps, compressors, steam turbines, gas turbines, sealing systems, Machinery auxiliaries, storage facilities pump stations, loading facilities, etc. Ensures that work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and is in conformity with the best engineering practice and with the Company's Standards, Codes and Practices.
- Plans, directs, co-ordinates and supervises machinery engineering activities. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at level established by Management.
- Performs engineering review/study for Basic/detailed engineering packages and confidently finalize the technical requirements in Data Sheets and engineering documents. All in accordance to the international standards and best engineering practices in the industry of oil and gas.
- Directs and co-ordinates the field implementation of concerned machinery project activities and minor plant changes. Conducts construction and field erection work management. Coordinates with multidiscipline departments for safety requirement, operating procedures, maintenance support, mechanical repairs, procurement of material, and resources to perform machinery work scope on behalf of Engineering department.
- Supervises the work of the contractors and OEMs during the execution. All activities must be in compliance with best practices and standards including ADGAS procedures, ADGAS HSEMS, and specifications.
- Prepares master inspection activity plan (IAP) and defines witnessed hold points at OEM facilities, FAT tests, Third party requirements, construction QA/QC plan, and pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and final field performance test and handover to operations for activities related to engineering division.
- Defines machinery two year spare parts, commissioning spare parts, critical spare parts for activities related to engineering division to ensure machinery continuous running without downtime.
- Conducts machinery technical bid evaluation for well-known worldwide machinery manufacturers to perform technical evaluations and final assessments.
- Keeps abreast of changes in all relevant standards and improvements in associated technology, equipment design and engineering practices.
- Carries out other similar or related tasks, such as identifying and supervising contractors during peak workloads, reviewing job techniques, methods, equipment, etc.
- Ensures that the work is integrated with that of the other Departments of the Division and liaises with Operations Division to ensure the provision of adequate service. This includes providing time estimates for work completion and advising the Division of relevant priorities.
- Participate in HAZOP meetings for machinery modifications and new procured plants.
- Provides information and support to Maintenance Department as necessary.
- Carries out technical review at all stages of plant modification and subsequent construction and implementation. Aware of management of change system for any plant modification. Study and implement specialized reports as required, such as recommendations for improvements or modifications to Plant and equipment.
- Co-ordinates the preparation of the Department's annual revenue and capital budgets and controls expenditure, includes the selection of equipment based on sound economic and engineering considerations and the preparation of specifications for quotations and subsequent evaluations.
- This position is essential to the Technical and Operational Integrity processes of AIRMS. Appropriate levels of knowledge and responsibility are expected from the incumbent.

• Check and ensure field safety and provide the work permits to subordinates to carry out the job.• To prepare the monitoring schedule and implement the same .Carry out checks that daily inspection and predictive maintenance on rotating machinery such as gas compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, motors etc are regularly carried out as defined and scheduled. Attending other abnormalities being raised by operations.• To follow up on the balancing and alignment of rotating machines during the repair or manufacture.• Supervise Condition Monitoring by checking vibrations, and operating parameters and raising work orders as required. Reports abnormality to Rotary Engineer.• Daily review and checking of on line monitoring system (Bentley Nevada Machinery Monitoring System, Machinery Condition Monitoring and performance monitoring) on critical machinery for abnormalities and reporting exceptions to Rotary Engineer• To assist the Rotary engineer for machine performance evaluation• To assist the Rotatory engineer to carry out RCA studies.• Witness the load/ no load tests of rotary equipment and its acceptance after any repair.• To ensure through Pdm techniques the required repairs / replacements are correctly carried out and equipment after re-assembly is in accordance with industrial standards. Continuously building/updating equipment condition monitoring database for the existing and new facilities.• To supervise the site acceptance of new equipment based on no load/load run performance in the project. Releasing punch list for abnormalities of rotating equipment in the project, confirming punch list items after execution by contracts.• To provide on job Training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationals.• Support the Operations for implementation of ODR program.• To comply with all company Health, Safety and Environment as well as Work Permit, policies and procedures• Carryout in-situ balancing up on requirement.• Ensure that the instruments used for monitoring are in good condition with periodic checks and calibration. Also ensure the system reliability of software used for monitoring and follow up its upgrade• Support CM technicians for data collection in the field.
• Management of all types of rotating machinery; compressors, turbines, pumps and motors, including strong knowledge of mechanical seals and seal systems.• Be part of a multi-disciplined maintenance support team, reviewing existing maintenance procedures and determining / putting in place future recommendations.• Provide day to day mechanical rotating equipment support and advice to the maintenance teams.• Plan preventative maintenance work and feed into the 5 yearly integrated planning system.• Provide specialist support with regards to inspection, fault analysis and improved maintenance strategies for rotating mechanical equipment.• Take the lead in condition monitoring report analysis to identify potential equipment failure and improvement opportunities.• Optimise the delivery of rotating equipment outages and work packs for the asset.• Review / recommend and implement health care packages for retaining mechanical equipment and implement where applicable.• Provide discipline input for any proposed engineering modifications.• Training and development of Nationals, Emiratisation Plan which involves shadowing or on the job training for certain designated positions.• Supervisor with experience mentoring junior engineers.• Leads participation in Vendor Pre-Qualification, FAT / SAT etc.• Analyse Rotating Machinery Equipment history data in terms of failure Analysis and spare parts consumption and inject the experience to selection of equipment's during project execution.• Assist in formulating in house Engineering development and training program based on lesson learnt or site installation problems or difficulties.
• Review and approve rotating equipments datasheets and drawings.• Participate in technical evaluations.• Participate in FAT.• Provide rotating equipment integrity management services to the site.• Perform duties safely and in conformance with applicable codes and ABSA regulations.• Investigate (mechanical) failures or unexpected maintenance problems by using a combination of field work, interviewing operators/maintainers and use of DCS tools.• Troubleshoot performance problems with data analyses and calculations and recommend corrective actions as required.• Track equipment usage from the RAM system and PI from the DCS as a performance monitoring tool.• Write guidelines that will be incorporated in operating and/or maintenance procedures.• Develop tactics and strategies that will allow plant equipment to achieve optimum performance by maximizing reliability.• Conduct formal root cause analyses, write and distribute the report and implement the results.• Share learning's with engineers, operators and maintainers.• Monitor maintenance performed on plant equipment by visiting the field and talking to maintenance personnel for the purposes of determining more reliable solutions to failures and worn equipment.• Liaise with vendors in procuring major pieces of equipment.• Review and approve the rotating equipments pre commissioning / commissioning procedures.• Implement the company HSE policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to area of responsibility. Ensures that work under control is performed In a safe and environmentally sound manner.• Follow up with the EPC contractor the construction planning and progress in daily basis.• Provide on-site machinery/mechanical engineering consultation during construction, pre-commissioning & commissioning stage.• Provide training & development to the assigned UAE national employees in the project.• Perform additional work activities as directed by line manager.• Respond to technical queries from ITC contractor and others, as deemed necessary in respect to piping. Ensures safe, economic and technically sound decisions in the EPC project phase.• Review requests for Design Deviations / Concession Requests proposed.• Verify that all deliverables are completed correctly and satisfactorily.• Review technical content of claims for changes in the EPC contract.

Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in in Mechanical Engineering and API Certificates
- Professional Language in English Language ( reading , writing and speaking )
- 10 years of experience in engineering and maintenance of Rotating equipment within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Must have an understanding and preferably Certification in the following:
- Mechanical Engineering Software – From Analysis to Operations, various mechanical Engineering Software’s can assist Senior Mechanical Engineers in Planning and Completing Projects
- Project Management Concepts – A thorough understanding of Project Management Aspects, such as Budgeting, Cost Estimating and Scheduling.
- • turbines in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry.
- • Familiarity with CMMMS, CMMS systems like MAXIMO. RBM, System-1
- • Familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) techniques.

• Analytical and precise communication skills.
• Undergone specialized training in vibration analysis and other Condition Monitoring Techniques, with a minimum of 8 years in the field of Condition Monitoring in the Fertilizer/petrochemical / Refinery / Oil & Gas plants. Working experience of Bentley Nevada / CSI / SKF IRD — PC based On-line & Off-line Condition Monitoring systems (Hardware & Software). Knowledge of high speed complex rotating equipment's (multistage steam turbines, pumps, motors, gearboxes, turbo compressors, screw compressors, Reciprocating Compressors, product handling equipment's etc.) and their maintenance techniques, repairs, diagnostics and fault analysis. Experienced in Field balancing and shop inspection of machine and spare parts.• Basic knowledge of RCA / RCM
