JOB DETAIL

Basic Purpose:

• Performs general stevedoring duties mainly but not limited to container and cargo lashing and unlashing, manual stuffing and de-stuffing of containers (if required), assisting at lining station in case of shortage.
• Assists technicians during repair and maintenance activities in addition to cleaning and washing of equipment.

Job Accountabilities:

• Lashing and un-lashing of containers and cargo on board vessels following safe methods and meeting productivity standards.
• Perform duties related to yard clean up on a regular basis
• General stevedoring of goods and materials in vessels, warehouse, vehicles and containers.
• Hook-on and hoof-off cargo to hoisting gear during loading and discharging of containers.
• Fitting and taking off twist locks under the cranes
• Assists technicians during maintenance activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• At least 1 year related work experience
• Basic English skills
• Physically fit.
