Job Description
Direct, supervise and guide a team of Riggers to ensure the timely, safe, and proper rigging for berthing
and un-berthing of vessels alongside jetties, to fulfil the operating requirements
Must have driving license.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Job Specific Accountabilities
1. Ensure that all standard operating procedures are followed by the team of Riggers to carry out
rigging procedures at the Onshore jetties
2. Direct, supervise and guide a team of Riggers to ensure the timely, safe, and proper rigging for
securing and releasing vessels, through their ship’s mooring lines, alongside jetties as needed to
fulfil the operating requirements
3. Ensure the safe berthing and un-berthing of vessels at the jetties
4. Plan the rigging operations for each job considering the need for the standard or any special
rigging equipment or gear and the organisation of the required resources for each job to meet
the operational requirements.
5. Ensure that all Riggers handle rigging equipment and gear in the appropriate manner which
includes, but is not limited to the following activities, to meet the operational requirement:
6. Selecting rigging gear, such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weight, size,
operational requirement, and work schedule to carry out rigging operations.
7. Cleaning and dressing machine surfaces and component parts in preparation for rigging
operations.
8. Assembling and installing supporting structures, rigging, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and
power tools to carry out rigging operations.
9. Testing Rigging to ensure safety and reliability
10. Dismantling, maintaining, and storing rigging equipment.
Desired Candidate Profile
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
? High School certificate (12th standard) with a good understanding of all standard rigging
operational procedures and the safety procedures and precautions
? Company Standards for Rigging and related activities
? Must be physically fit
? Must be able to use wireless handheld radios
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
? At least 2 years as an onshore Rigger in oil terminal.
Professional Certifications
? Rigging and Slinging.
6. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
? Ability to lead and direct a team of riggers. Basic English Language literacy and ability to read
and implement the standard operating procedures manual.
