Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities not limited to
o Lead and facilitate HSEIA, HAZOP, LOPA, What-If, and FMEA studies for new projects and modifications.
o Perform Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) and Consequence Modelling for high-risk scenarios.
o Identify and evaluate Major Accident Hazards (MAH) and recommend mitigation measures.
o Develop, implement, and maintain PSM programs in compliance with Company and local regulations.
o Ensure Management of Change (MOC) procedures are followed for all process modifications.
o Maintain Process Safety Information (PSI) including P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and safety data.
o Participate in FEED, Detailed Design, and Constructability Reviews to integrate safety into design.
o Review Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) design, perform SIL verification, and validate cause & effect charts.
o Ensure compliance with API, NFPA, IEC 61511, and other relevant standards.
o Conduct internal and external audits for process safety compliance.
o Prepare reports and action plans for findings and ensure timely closure.
o Liaise with regulatory authorities for inspections and compliance reporting.
o Lead investigations for process safety incidents and near misses.
o Apply methodologies like TapRooT, RCA, or BowTie Analysis to identify root causes.
o Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
o Support development of Emergency Response Plans and Scenario Planning.
o Participate in drills and exercises to validate emergency preparedness.
o Deliver process safety awareness sessions for operations and maintenance teams.
o Develop training materials for HAZOP, LOPA, and PSM elements.
o Monitor process safety KPIs (e.g., LOPC events, audit findings).
o Recommend improvements to enhance Safety Culture and Operational Discipline.
o Maintain accurate records of risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
o Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual process safety performance reports for management.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirement
o Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
o CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
o Functional Safety Certification (IEC 61511/61508)
o Minimum 10 years in process safety or related engineering
o Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in process safety in gas distribution / transmission .
o Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) techniques: HAZOP, What-If, LOPA.
o Risk Management & QRA: Ability to perform quantitative risk assessments.
o Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS): Design and verification of safety layers.
o Regulatory Compliance: OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, ISO/IEC standards.
o Mechanical Integrity: Knowledge of equipment reliability and inspection programs.
o Management of Change (MOC): Implement and review changes safely.
o PHA-Pro, BowTieXP, Aspen HYSYS, or similar process simulation tools.
o Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis.
o Emergency Response Planning.
o Strong Analytical & Communication Skills for cross-functional collaboration.
