Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities not limited to
o Develop comprehensive inspection schedules for static equipment, pipelines, and piping systems.
o Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective inspections.
o Perform risk-based inspection (RBI) and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) assessments.
o Select appropriate NDT techniques (UT, RT, MT, PT, Eddy Current) based on equipment and damage mechanisms.
o Supervise and validate NDT contractor work and ensure compliance with standards.
o Interpret NDT results and recommend corrective actions.
o Monitor corrosion rates and degradation mechanisms in pipelines and vessels.
o Recommend corrosion mitigation strategies (coatings, inhibitors, cathodic protection).
o Conduct material selection reviews for repairs and replacements.
o Ensure all inspection activities comply with API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, NACE, and local regulations.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international codes and company standards.
o Perform Fitness-for-Service (FFS) evaluations using API 579 guidelines.
o Calculate remaining life of equipment and propose replacement or repair plans.
o Maintain inspection records in asset integrity management systems (e.g., Meridium, PCMS).
o Prepare detailed technical reports with findings, risk assessments, and recommendations.
o Analyze inspection data to identify trends and predict failures.
o Participate in planning and execution of major shutdowns and turnarounds.
o Provide technical support for repair scopes and welding procedures.
o Validate post-repair inspections before equipment is returned to service.
o Investigate equipment failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
o Recommend design or operational changes to prevent recurrence.
o Review and approve inspection contractor procedures and qualifications.
o Ensure quality control of outsourced inspection services.
o Identify opportunities for improving inspection methodologies and technologies.
o Implement digital inspection tools, drones, and advanced NDT techniques.
o Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
o Ensure all inspection activities adhere to HSE standards.
o Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification for inspection tasks.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirement
o Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related discipline.
o API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspector)
o API 570 (Piping Inspector)
o ASNT Level II/III in NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT)
o AWS or CSWIP for welding inspection
o Knowledge of RBI software
o Minimum 10 years of experience in Inspection Services.
o Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in inspection, asset integrity, or maintenance within oil & gas
o Visual inspection, ultrasonic testing, radiography, magnetic particle, dye penetrant testing.
o Familiar with API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, NACE codes and standards.
o Understanding of corrosion mechanisms, coatings, cathodic protection.
o Familiarity with CMMS and RBI tools.
o Ability to interpret inspection data and prepare technical reports.
o Knowledge of HSE standards and regulatory requirements.
