Duties and Responsibilities not limited to 

 

o Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analysis for operational activities.

o Supervise and enforce safety protocols during maintenance operations.

o Monitor compliance with HSE standards through inspections, audits, and incident investigations.

o Lead emergency response planning and drills.

o Monitor high-risk tasks such as confined space entry, hot work, and lifting operations.

o Ensure compliance to Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems

o Prepare and submit HSE performance reports to management.

o Train and mentor staff on safety practices and environmental protection.

o Identify gaps in HSE systems and recommend improvements.

o Implement lessons learned from incidents and audits

o Promote a strong safety culture across all operational teams.

Minimum Requirement

o Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma (3 years) in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field, or equivalent discipline.

o NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent mandatory

o ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems).

o HAZOP/HAZID training.

o Emergency Response and Incident Command certifications

o Minimum 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s in Engineering & 10 years’ experience with Diploma in Engineering

o Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in HSE roles within Oil & Gas operations

o Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems (HSEMS):

o Ability to implement and monitor HSESMS.

o Expertise in hazard identification, risk analysis, and mitigation strategies.

o Knowledge of local and international HSE regulations (OSHA, API, Company Codes of Practice).

o Planning and executing drills for fire, gas leaks, and blowouts.

o Waste management, spill response, and emissions monitoring.

o Competence in preparing detailed HSE reports and KPIs.

o Ability to lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and influence operational teams.
