Basic Function:

 

• Monitor and control process parameters for various plant from Zirku Control Center. Take quick & safe corrective actions in case of process upsets or emergency situations in line with standing instructions.

 

Work Performed:

 

• Monitor and control process parameters in Oil, Gas, Utilities, Satah, Crude Loading and Gas Export plants. Take timely remedial actions in case of process alarms or plant upsets due to instrument/equipment failure, ensuring safety of plant & personnel.

• To assist the shift supervisor in day-to-day activities by providing proper feed back and follow-up.

• Provide work guidance to field Senior Operators/Operators and coordinate their activities in keeping with standard operating procedures & standing instructions complying to Company’s Health, Safety & Environment policy.

• Monitor fire & gas panel and interact with fire control center during failure of any plant protection system.

• In case of emergency situation, take appropriate actions as per ‘Company’ emergency procedures and contingency plans. 

- Safely shut down the affected Plant partially or totally. 

- Maintain communication with Emergency Control Center, Fire Control Center, Zakum & Satah Fields, and Das Island, Clinic, Abu Dhabi and any other agency as per the emergency situation. 

- To restore the Plant to normal operating conditions safely and efficiently once the situation is normalized.

• To initiate work request for maintenance in case of equipment/instrument failure in co-ordination with field operators & shift supervisor.

• Follow-up work permits, take equipment/instruments out of service for maintenance and to take back in service after maintenance intervention.

• To record all the activities that occurred during the shift.

• In liaison with Oil Movement section, prepare necessary crude tank, pumping station and metering station for each tanker loading.  Co-ordinate with Loading Master, SPC Representative and Oil Movement Supervisor for smooth and safe loading operation.

• Communicate with Zakum field and Satah field Production personnel for any variation in parameters, warn Satah offshore team of any alarm/abnormalities occurring in the field.

• Monitor the quality of products and intermediates and take necessary corrective actions when the Lab analysis indicates deviation from standard norms.

• Prepare ‘Zirku Daily Production Report’ based on: 

- Crude Receipt, Crude Export & Gas Export.

- Important Plant process parameters.

• Prepare ‘Daily Consumption Sheet’ which indicates stock of various utilities including Diesel/Water production and export.

• Carry out performance studies of Plant & equipment and prepare relevant data/reports.

• For Pre-planned Inspection / Maintenance / Shut-down of major vessels/equipment Plant section: 

- Involve in preparation of detailed procedure. 

- Follow-up and record the activities. 

• Give orientation and on-the-job guidance to trainees/U.A.E. nationals in Plant process controls. 

• Carry out the job function in accordance with HSE commitment and policy to achieve strategic objectives and targets stipulated in Company HSE Management system document.

 

IO and Decision Making Authority:

 

• Carries out duties in accordance with established plant operating procedures and technical standards. Responsible for coordinating the work of field operators. Expected to use his initiative in non-routine or emergency situations.  Work is subject to spot-check by his supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

 

• Completion of Secondary technical education (12 years) + specialized plant operator training equivalent to 6 to 9 months full-time.

• Senior Panel Operator – Process: 5 years experience in process plant operations either in refinery or petrochemicals.

• Very good knowledge of English.
