Job Purpose

Set up rigging for the timely, safe, and proper berthing and un-berthing of vessels alongside jetties, to fulfil the operating requirements

Job Specific Accountabilities

1. Follow all standard operating procedures to carry out rigging procedures at the Onshore jetties
2. Set up rigging for the timely, safe, and proper securing and releasing of vessels, through their ship’s mooring lines, alongside jetties to fulfil the operating requirements
3. Assist the Foreman in safe berthing and un-berthing of vessels at the jetties
4. Select rigging gear, such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weight, size, operational requirement, and work schedule to carry out rigging operations.
5. Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts in preparation for rigging operations.
6. Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools to carry out rigging operations.
7. Test Rigging to ensure safety and reliability
8. Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment.

Minimum Qualification

• High School certificate (12th standard) with a good understanding of all standard rigging operational procedures and the safety procedures and precautions
• Must be physically fit and able to swim
• Must be able to use wireless handheld radios

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• At least 2 years as an Onshore Rigger.
